How to print the memory cards?

First of all, download the PDF file and print out 2 copies. Print on heavier paper for greater durability. You can also print out the colored background on the back of the cards, so they are less see-through (check your printer’s setting to find out whether your printer supports duplex printing).

Another way to make the cards sturdier and not see-through is to cut out 2×2” (or larger) squares from cardboard and glue them onto the back of the cards.

When you have the memory cards printed, cut them out along the grey lines. You will have 16 pairs of cards. You can also laminate the cards for them to last longer.

How to play the memory game?

The memory game is very easy to play. The game can be played with two or more players and its goal of the game is to find all the matching cards using your memory.

Mix up the cards and lay them face down on the table or floor. You can form 8 rows of cards across and 4 rows down.

Each player takes his turn to flip two cards trying to find a match. If the cards match, the player keeps those two cards and he gets another turn. If the cards don’t match, the player flips the cards back over.

The person with the most matches wins the game.

Younger children can play this game solo with the cards face up as a matching game.
