How to play the New Year’s word scramble

This game features 15 New Year’s-related words.

The rules of the game are simple, players will need to rearrange the letters to spell out the words correctly.

The answer key is also included in the download.

Tips to unscramble words faster

If you feel stuck, don’t peek at the answer key right away, try the following tips instead.

• Look for common letter pairs. There are letters, that often appear together, common examples are: TH, ER, ON, and AN. If you can spot these letter combinations, you can try to connect them with the remaining letters.
• Find prefixes and suffixes. Look for prefixes and suffixes and try connecting them with the rest of the letters. Common prefixes are: ANTI-, DE-, DIS-, EM-, EN-, IM-, IN, IR-, MID-, NON-, PRE-, RE-, SUPER-, UN-, UNDER-.  Common suffixes are: – ABLE, -ED, -ES, -FUL, -ING, -ITY, -IVE, -LESS, -LY, – MENT, -NESS, -TION.
• Identify the vowels. Look at the vowels (A, E, I, O, U) and try to construct the word around them.
• Use a pen and paper. Unscrambling words in your head can be pretty difficult, so grab a pen and a piece of paper to write down word fragments and try out different letter combinations.
