Supplies
To make this DIY banner you will need the following supplies:
- Happy New Year banner (link below)
- Home printer (or you can go to your local print shop)
- White cardstock (or ordinary paper)
- Paper cutter or scissors
- Hole punch
- Twine, ribbon, or string
Instructions
Step 1: Download and print.
Click on the link at the end of the post to download the banner.
It is best to print on cardstock – it is sturdier than ordinary paper, but if you don’t have it at hand typical printer paper will do.
Step 2: Cut.
Cut out each flag using scissors or a paper cutter.
Step 3: Punch holes and string.
Using a hole punch, punch a hole in the top corners of each banner.
Arrange the letters in the correct order and thread a ribbon or twine through them. You can use tape or a little bit of hot glue to secure the letters in place, so they don’t slide around the string.
Hang up your banner wherever you please and enjoy!

Download the PDF file and print it at home or at your local print shop. Print as many copies as you need.
Print on standard 8.5″×11″ paper (US Letter). To print on A4 paper select “Fit to page” in your printer settings.
To make the page more durable print on heavier-weight paper or cardstock.
